Equity in Outdoor Education
“Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world.”

We recognize the inherent privilege and long-standing inaccessibility of outdoor education and, in particular, private programs. Equity and inclusion are vitally important. As individuals and as a community, we are committed to learning how to explicitly address and dismantle systems of oppression. We are taking measured steps to strengthen our understanding of biases, injustice, equity, and inclusion and their intersection with class, race, gender, sexuality, and ability.
We acknowledge that this process takes dedication and deep reflection, and we invite our community to hold us accountable. With gratitude, we accept your patience, participation, interest, and guidance as we aim to understand the actionable work we can do together to ensure that Kettle and Crow Forest School is always a safe and welcoming place for all children and families.

A portion of each fully paid tuition is reserved to help provide financial assistance to a friend in need. In addition, we are actively working to secure philanthropic support to reach more children and families and offset our reliance on tuition alone to support our school.
If you feel passionate about increasing access to outdoor education, we invite you to donate to our equity fund. Not sure you can swing it right now? We get it! Feel free to share the link with family and friends ;-)

We are always building our gear library! Kids grow a mile a minute, and it can be tough to keep up with supplies. So why not share! If you have any outdoor clothing/gear that your kids have outgrown and you’d like to donate to help offset the cost for another family, please reach out! We are happy to do local pickups. You can reach us at hello@kettleandcrow.com
Supporting Access to Nature:
Kettle and Crow Donation Fund
Kettle and Crow Forest School is dedicated to enhancing equity, inclusion, and access to our enriching outdoor programs, as well as providing support to families experiencing economic hardship.
The Kettle and Crow Donation Fund has been established to facilitate access to our programs through tuition scholarships and by supplying essential gear necessary for participation in outdoor learning environments (such as winter boots, coats, wool socks, and rain gear).
Additionally, this fund underpins all the elements that sustain and nurture our programs, contributing to initiatives that will enable more children to benefit from nature-immersed education at Kettle and Crow.
