Celebration: Earth Day
Every day is a day to honor our beautiful planet, but on Earth Day, we take special care to express our gratitude and commitment to preserving its wonders. Monday, April 22, 2023, we will celebrate Earth Day, a global event inspiring awareness and appreciation for our shared home.
On this day, our students will embark on a meaningful journey to further their understanding of their roles as stewards of the Earth. This journey begins with a hands-on activity where the children will contribute to enhancing the beauty of our dear Lithia Park by picking up any misplaced trash. This tangible act will instill in them the value of taking responsibility for our environment.
To encourage creative expression of their admiration for the Earth, the children will also be crafting nature altars. Using natural materials found within our school grounds, these mini altars will serve as a physical embodiment of our collective respect and gratitude for nature.
What would a celebration be without music? Our Earth Day celebration will also include a gathering of voices as our students come together to sing songs dedicated to Mother Earth. Through the power of song, we aim to instill a sense of unity, shared purpose, and appreciation for the natural world.
Let’s inspire our students with a dedication to Earth's care and instill in them the joy of being thoughtful, active stewards of the Earth.
