Solstice Festival: Advent Spiral
Embrace the spirit of the holiday season at Kettle and Crow Forest School's annual Advent Spiral on Sunday, December 3, 2023. As dusk settles and the winter stars begin to twinkle, we welcome you to this magical, reflective event starting at sundown.
The Advent Spiral, an enduring tradition symbolizing the inward journey of winter, marks a time of quiet anticipation as we prepare for the festive days ahead. Its symbolism reaches deep, representing our journey through the darkest days of winter toward the returning light of spring.
As the evening shadows deepen, our Advent Spiral, adorned with evergreen branches and glowing with the soft light of candles, will form the heart of our celebration. Children are invited to participate in this profound ritual, walking the spiral's path while holding a candle, reflecting the light within that guides us through life's darkest hours.
Upon reaching the spiral's center, each participant will light their candle and place it along the path, their individual lights joining together to illuminate the spiral, symbolizing our shared journey and the communal spirit of the season.
In keeping with the spirit of tranquility and reflection, we encourage each participant to bring a thermos of your favorite warm drink. As we gather around the radiant spiral, we will share quiet conversation, song, and the warmth of our community against the chill of the winter evening.
Remember, as the event begins at sundown, please arrive a little before to ensure you're ready for the start of our spiral walk.
