Lantern Festival: Martinmas
As the sun sets earlier and rises later, the world grows darker, and the inner light of humankind wants to shine forth. Join us in lighting up the night at Kettle and Crow Forest School's Martinmas Festival on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at sundown.
Martinmas, traditionally observed as a time of kindness and giving, marks the transition from the vibrant hues of autumn to the gentle whispers of winter. Our lantern walk, the centerpiece of this celebration, symbolizes the inner light that guides us through the winter's darker days.
As the sun sets and shadows grow longer, our lanterns will glow bright, painting a path of warmth and illumination against the twilight. Children and adults alike are invited to participate in this enchanting procession, guided by the soft glow of their handmade lanterns.
In the spirit of community and sharing, we encourage each participant to bring a flask of your favorite warm drink, reflecting the warmth and unity of our community against the chill of the night.
We look forward to sharing this magical twilight journey with you, as our lanterns light the way through the rustling leaves, embracing the spirit of Martinmas and strengthening our resilient community.
Remember, as the event begins at sundown, please arrive a little before to ensure you're ready for the commencement of our lantern walk.
