Festival: May Day

As the vibrant colors of spring unfurl and nature renews itself in a spectacle of life and vitality, we invite our students and families to celebrate the spirit of the season at our May Day Festival on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Kettle and Crow Forest School.

May Day, traditionally heralding the arrival of spring and the promise of summer, is an ancient celebration of nature's revival after the slumber of winter. We bring this tradition to life in our school with activities that connect our students to the lively rhythm of the season.

Our festivities begin with the traditional Maypole dance, where students weave colorful ribbons around a pole in a pattern that symbolizes the interplay of the elements and the cycle of the seasons. As they dance, they'll be joining countless generations in a joyful salute to spring's arrival.

In keeping with the theme of renewal, our students will also participate in a seed-planting ceremony. Each child will have the opportunity to plant a seed in our school garden, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world and the cycle of life it represents.

To conclude our celebration, we will host a grand picnic on the school grounds. Each child is encouraged to bring a favorite spring-inspired dish to share, enhancing the sense of community and shared celebration.

Join us as we welcome Spring with joyful hearts and a spirit of community at our May Day celebration. Together, we'll dance, plant, eat, and celebrate the vibrant energy of spring that inspires growth and renewal within us all.
