About Us

Caitlin Maddigan

Founder & Director

A Waldorf child herself, Caitlin believes vehemently in the power of play, magic, and beauty. And as the child of a surfer mother, she also believes that life is better outdoors. Caitlin’s Waldorf education began at the Haleakala Waldorf School in Maui and concluded at the Rogue Valley Waldorf School (now Siskiyou School) here in Ashland. It’s hard for her to imagine a more enriching and impactful educational experience.

In her undergrad at Prescott College, Caitlin studied Culture, Power, and Politics with an emphasis on Social Justice Education. She has taught in public and private schools, in a middle and high school for teen mothers, in an in-home Waldorf-inspired preschool, and an entirely outdoors Waldorf-inspired preschool. She’s led backpacking trips, summer camps, circus camps, and children’s yoga classes.

Caitlin is also a midwife and runs a small practice, Coyote Midwifery, which provides prenatal and postpartum support, fertility counseling and intrauterine insemination (IUI), and home birth services.

Caitlin is a certified forest school director through the Forest School Teacher Institute. She can usually be found encouraging her toddlers to climb trees, cross creeks, and roll in the mud. Or maybe you'll see her out dancing with wild abandon in a sparkly jumpsuit.

It depends on the day.
